MagicJack Scam
Magicjack is great... if you don't mind spyware, and them using your call's to modify their marketing and sale of your personal information to marketers. Did you know the first thing that happens when you install the device is that Magicjack replaces your system.dll with a new one? Don't worry; it probably makes your computer work better! Also you get to see all kinds of advertisements... the Prodigy model all over again. Welcome back to 1992. So you purchase the hardware, and a license to use it, and then they say they have to advertise to you to support the product? Oh and if you decide you want to fight them about your information being released, you have also signed away your ability to fight them and all arbitration takes place in South Florida, so at least you can enjoy the sun while you get reamed.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. on Thursday posted another quarterly loss after shedding 1.3 million wireless customers, reflecting the company's difficulty in turning its business around, especially in a deep U.S. recession.
In the fourth quarter, Sprint reported a net loss of $1.62 billion, or 57 cents a share, compared with a loss of $29.32 billion, or $10.31 a share, in the year-earlier period. The 2007 quarter included a massive noncash write-down to reflect a decline in value of assets acquired in the 2005 acquisition of Nextel.
Revenue fell 14% to $8.43 billion.

Wall Street analysts expected Sprint to lose 6 cents a share, excluding one-time items, on sales of $8.55 billion, according to the consensus compiled by FactSet Research.
Sprint has been losing net customers for nearly two years despite a concerted effort to reverse the decline. The faltering U.S. economy has also undercut its effort, forcing Sprint to announce last month that it will eliminate 8,000 jobs, or 15% of its workforce.
The company ended 2008 with 49.3 million wireless customers, down from its all-time peak of about 54 million reached in mid-2007.
For 2009, however, Sprint said it expects the loss of customers to decline from 2008 levels, owing to steps it has taken to improve its wireless service.
In premarket trades, shares of Sprint rose slightly. The stock closed Wednesday at $2.71, down 5 cents.

Smoke Signals - and Friends Encouragement

Between the constant flood of emails, half of them garbage, and the cost involved with having a cell phone it is definitely a good idea to take a break from it. There are plenty of low cost pre-paid options out there these days for emergencies, etc. When I was in Sudan I really didn't miss having a cell or watching TV. It sucks to feel tied down or distracted by technology sometimes. WiFi Internet is generally readily available these days for free anyways and there are way to check voicemail through email.

Home Power Lost
8:32 AM - I lost power today and have no phone. I was sitting on my bed, online emailing back and forth to a few friends as usual, and my internet went dead. I was trying several times to renew the IP Address, and even reboot my computer but still no internet connection. So I put my internet explorer in offline state and looked at sites that I had been online yesterday and later.
Troubleshooting the issue>
I went outside to see if any neighbors were outside staring at the pole- None were.
It is a windy day, so I checked my connection to the house it appeared fine. Then, I checked my meter, it was not on.
Being out of work, I even contemplated if I had paid the bill and maybe they just turned me off. I knew I did pay it though. Without a phone I could no longer call my Power Athority to see if they knew about the issue.
My neighbors wireless networks I usually could see the broadcast for were not showing as well.
My final result in knowing the whole neighborhood was down was by hearing the fire station’s alarms up the block. They kept ringing, and I assume there was accidents because the traffic lights were off?
Results of the test of disconnecting my telephony > although I may not think I need a phone, I do for those emergency situations. Or do I?

Convenience already going, I miss people's voices
As if I was not lonely enough, from being out of work for nine months & loosing regular communications to existing clients, and project management over Emails.
Unconventionally I did the deed to strand myself even further, and go into the depths of ghosthood. I'm floating around, can you see me?
I needed to get rid of the phone to teach myself a few things about the attachment issues to it, and get back to the communicative qualities I once had at the roots. My focus has now changed, Driving down the street, going to the Bank, and ordering breakfast I have seen people differently - as to say I care about you because I am here too. You must bridge the fact that your friends are elsewhere. A smile means so much to someone.
Actually Thinking came easier. My personality came from really thinking about what I wanted to eat for breakfast. I decided that I would get the crème-de crème, an onion bagel with cream cheese, Bacon, Tomato, and Pastrami.
I miss peoples voices already who I have talked to daily. I want to talk and be heard but now they have disconnected and the plug is pulled. I get the monotone bling from Instant messenger, or ding dong from the email system.
Normal day's were riddled with unlocking the phone to see if anyone had been paying attention to me. Because of the adaption to it as my intermediary to friendship, I know that I will loose some of those distant connections, but hopefully I hope that my standard of life will get better and those closest to me will become more fruitful.
How much more can I take of this, or will I get used to it and go on...

T-Mobile Services & Cost - I Canceled My Service
Costs of Having a Cell Phone with T-Mobile, (or others), with prices over $100.00 per month for 1000 Minutes and other options- something has to give. With People out of work, they are going to cancel a home phone or cell, why not both?
Is a cell phone necessary in this day in age? Most say yes, but it is the cost of relationships that are getting blurred.
There is no companies offering "text only" or WIFI, only services to midigate the public's loss of jobs, and lower hourly wadges.
We'll see that companies will need to give something in return for loosing customers.

I’ canceled my t-mobile cell phone today, I’m available on This Blog only. It took me 20 Minutes and the phone company would give me no options to keep voicemail, or text only features.
There was a new plan for “unlimited wifi- in hotspot locations (9.99),” but this was not available to me. T-Mobile originally advertised that my Curve has the ability to go on the internet (they took away this service quietly.
